Fundraiser for CARE Canada

In support of CARE Canada

Dear Friends,

I enjoy the good fortune to face the challenges in participating to “The Road to Mandalay” vintage car Rally in February 2015 and simultaneously raise awareness for CARE Canada’s activities.

CARE is close to my heart. I myself, when I was a rather destitute stateless political refugee, over 60 years ago in Europe, became a direct beneficiary of its food package programs in the early post World War II times.

It is wonderful to have the opportunity to give back even in a small way.

I shall be very grateful if you would join me in supporting the worthwhile work that is being conducted by this organization.

To find information on the car Rally see http://www.endurorally.com/pages/road-to-mandalay.

With many thanks for your interest and concern,

        as always yours,

Harry (Enrico) Dobrzensky

Your donation will support a women's empowerment project in Bolivia. ~

The CARE Project

Throughout Latin America, 12.6 per cent of the population lives in extreme poverty. In Bolivia, that number more than doubles with almost 33 per cent of Bolivians living in extreme hardship.

CARE’s Tukuy Yanapana ("we all collaborate") project in Bolivia aims to improve the profitability and competitiveness of family farms and small enterprises increasing incomes for women, men and youth.

The goal of this project is to empower women and girls to lift themselves and their families out of poverty by:

• educating women and men about gender roles in labour
• raising the visibility of unpaid work performed by women
• providing access to professional information and training, supplies and equipment
• working with municipal governments to develop policies and regulations that support small farmers and  enterprises

This is a project in partnershp with the Canadian government and for every dollar that is raised, the government will match 3:1!
